A Few More Days – Christmas at RC

03 Jan A Few More Days – Christmas at RC

“It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” says the Christmas song, and I agree.  But the few days right before Christmas always seem hectic to me.  I’m always surprised that it’s already Christmas Eve — “Didn’t I have a few more days to bake, a few more days to find the elusive perfect gift, a few more days to wait for the ordered package to arrive, a few more days to wrap, a few more days to relax with hot coca and look at the tree, a few more days…?”tree 2013

Part of this is poor planning on my part, because if I had gotten all my “things” done, then I could enjoy the season without thinking about “what isn’t done.”  But I still enjoy it despite myself.  A few gifts are late, but I got to watch White Christmas.  We have less cookies, but I got to eat fried oysters with relatives.  Maybe we should just stick with
all the fun (caroling, moves, parties) and goodness (food, church programs, visiting)
of the Christmas holiday, then wait for Epiphany to share gifts.  Plus, we’d get the after-Christmas sales that way!  Maybe next year.

Here at RC Heating & Cooling, we’ve had an employee Christmas dinner each year.  We have gone to a different restaurant each time.  This Christmas we went to Water’s Edge in Hesston.  Great food!  We loved it and I want to go again so that I can get the all-you-can-eat fried chicken.  Here are a few pictures of us visiting around the table – in no particular order.

I hope that you, too, had a meaningful Christmas.  More and more I’m realizing that having “a few more days” can be precious.  C. S. Lewis said, “The future is something which everyone reaches at the rate of 60 minutes an hour, whatever he does, whoever he is.”  I want to use my time wisely in 2014.

Happy New Year!
